Our Service

Aerial Ashes deliver an ashes-scattering service that can enable anyone to access beautiful and memorable locations over which ashes can be scattered whilst also removing the anxiety some have of handling the process themselves.

Our service includes the management of all permissions and arrangements necessary to meet your airborne ashes-scattering requirements.

Our drone flying is regulated by the CAA with whom Aerial Ashes are awarded an Operational Authorisation. To meet this, Aerial Ashes must adhere to strict rules concerning safety, training, licensing, insurance and the avoidance of disturbance to the general public; it is also essential to have the permission of the landowner before scattering takes place. Ensuring compliance with all rules is covered in our planning process which starts from the moment an enquiry is received.

The choice of location for scattering ashes is up to you and we will endeavour to gain the landowner’s permission on your behalf. Establishing contact with landowners can take a few weeks and permission is not always granted; if this is the case, we will liaise with you to try and find a suitable alternative

Scattering ashes at sea operating from the beach is usually less complicated due to the legal permissions that are extant.

Depending on the season, however, beaches can get very busy and during the summer months we try to arrange to launch very early in the morning; this way, we can ensure that we meet our safety operating criteria as well as avoiding disturbance to other beach users.

We conduct our flight planning through ‘DroneDesk’ which is computer-based, bespoke software and at the end of the planning phase we have a complete job pack detailing the where, when, how and for whom; it also contains details of our site assessments and how we have mitigated all identified risks.

Aerial Ashes Tri-State, a quick introduction

"Elevate Farewell Ceremonies: Drone Ash Scattering as a Meaningful Alternative to Traditional Funerals"

Saying goodbye to a loved one is a deeply personal experience, and drone ash scattering offers a modern, heartfelt way to celebrate their life from new heights. Unlike traditional burial or direct cremation alone, scattering ashes by drone creates a unique, memorable tribute, allowing families to release ashes in a beautiful location—whether over the ocean, mountains, or a favorite scenic spot. This eco-friendly, respectful approach lets families honourfavourite the wishes of their loved ones and create a lasting moment for reflection.

Drone ash scattering following a direct cremation offers a serene, aerial view that’s both symbolic and visually impactful, making it a perfect alternative for those looking to personalise their farewells beyond traditional funerals. With professional drone pilots guiding every flight, families can choose stunning locations that held significance for the deceased. This modern farewell helps bring peace and closure, blending innovation with tradition to allow loved ones to rest where they found joy.

Whether you’re looking to avoid the limitations of traditional cremation or are seeking a dignified and environmentally conscious send-off, ash scattering by drone creates a timeless tribute from above.
